THE MAYAN COAST Costa Maya Miles and miles of powdery white sand line the coast from Majahual to Xcalak. This is the Costa Maya. Rustic bungalows and small hotels dot the shoreline around Majahual and Xcalak and offer a relaxing alternative for those who want nothing more than to gaze at the bewitching blues of the Caribbean Sea.
A chain of reefs, part of the Mesoamerican Reef System, the second longest in the world, shadows the Costa Maya and behind this massive natural barrier the sea is calm and the waves caress the shore.
